The CGT had publicly expressed its concern that the reorganization of the administrative services of the Prefecture might conceal “a large-scale downsizing plan.” However, the Prefect is very clear: “No, there is no downsizing plan being prepared at the Prefecture of Alpes-Maritimes. Neither today, nor tomorrow!”
Before specifying that, on the other hand, it was about implementing the New Generation Prefectures Plan (PPNG), one aspect of which has just been presented by the Minister of the Interior: tomorrow, the production of regulatory documents (excluding documents for foreigners) will be streamlined and pooled within 40 platforms (excluding the Ile-de-France region), hosted in prefectures or sub-prefectures.
In fact, within this framework, the sub-prefecture of Grasse has been chosen to host a platform dedicated to driving licenses, consisting of thirty agents (operational from 2018).
But no worries in Nice, which also benefits, since last October, from a platform dedicated to naturalization applications for the Alpes-Maritimes and the Var.
The future after this reorganization?
The Prefecture will strengthen the four priority missions that now form its “core business”: crisis management, legality control and legal expertise, combating fraud, and interministerial coordination of public policies โ as stated by Prefect Adolphe Colrat.
