We’re revisiting the demonstration in Paris that we already discussed in our article yesterday. 1 million demonstrators? The CGT isn’t fooling our readers!
The CGT had announced a “huge” demonstration, and it was indeed. At the very least, the disruption was truly “huge”.
The CGT claimed 1.3 million participants, but here’s the calculation:
Distance from Place d’Italie to Invalides: 5000 m, travel duration: 1 hour. Duration of the demonstration: 4 hours, average width of the streets used by the procession: 40m, density of demonstrators: 0.44/m2. Do the math: 352,000 demonstrators.
Admittedly, that’s twice what the police reported but 1 million less than what Mr. Martinez said…
Now that’s really huge!
