Every last weekend of November, the Food Banks call on the general public for their national collection.
For two days, around 125,000 volunteers will collect foodstuffs at more than 9,000 collection points (stores, schools, town halls, etc.).
This year in the Alpes-Maritimes, more than 900 Food Bank volunteers will take turns in 90 stores throughout the department to appeal to the generosity of customers.
For 21 years, the association has played an indispensable role in our territory by collecting and distributing food to the most disadvantaged.
This is a role that the Department of Alpes-Maritimes supports each year through financial and material assistance.
Like the other 101 structures in the national network, it collects food free of charge from several supply sources.
Hundreds of previously trained volunteers then work daily to sort, manage, and store the products, and share them with a network of associations and Social Action Community Centers (CCAS).
Fighting against waste is also a strong focus of the association’s actions.
