At the occasion of the annual grand gathering of all stakeholders of this educational program, Jacques Peyrat, President of the Urban Community, will be accompanied by Marc Lafaurie, Vice-President in charge of the Environment, and the Mayors of all the municipalities that have actively participated in this operation. Other partners of this initiative include the Academic Inspection, the National Forest Office, the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service, the National Gendarmerie, and the Municipal Forest Fire Committees.
Animations in schools took place throughout the school year involving about thirty fourth and fifth-grade classes from Cagnes-sur-Mer, Saint-Laurent du Var, Saint-Jeannet, La Gaude, Saint-Martin du Var, Levens, and Vence.
The highlight of this educational program traditionally takes place on the Grand Prรฉ of Levens, where the 800 children who were made aware during the school animations will gather for a thematic action day โPrevention of Forest Fire Riskโ focused on practical workshops and discovery: fauna and flora, ecosystem, rights and duties of citizens, understanding emergency signals, etc.
On this occasion, each of the classes participating in the operation will receive a young olive tree in a pot. The children will also write messages in favor of the environment which will soar into the sky at midday attached to a dirigible balloon.
