From October 2 to 7, for the Cinéroman festival, visit Pathé Gare du Sud and the cinémathèque for a selection of films around the theme “Literature in Cinema”.
For this fifth edition, the selected films are divided into three categories. Pathé Gare du Sud will host the films in competition and the premieres. This is an opportunity to watch, among others, The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan by Martin Bourboulon or The Abbé Pierre by Frédéric Tellier. The cinémathèque in Nice, located in the Mégarama (Vauban) halls, will present a selection of cult films. The cinémathèque’s dark theaters will invite you to (re)discover, for example, Belle de jour by Luis Buñuel and also Diplomacy by Volker Schlöndorff. This year, you will also be able to discover a series in preview at the cinémathèque. It is Tout pour Agnès by Vincent Garenq with Michèle Laroque. This mini-series is inspired by the fascinating story of the Palais de la Méditerranée in Nice.
Finally, during the Cinéroman festival, numerous events will be held at the Artistic Arts and Culture Center. Located at 27 Boulevard Dubouchage, this space will offer meet-ups, masterclasses, debates, and even readings.
45 screenings during the Cinéroman festival
This year once again, the Cinéroman festival has gone all out. Indeed, there will be no less than 45 screenings over one week, spread across two different cinemas, Gare du Sud and the Cinémathèque. For this fifth edition, the festival aims to bring a breath of fresh air to the capital of the Côte d’Azur. The César-winning Alex Lutz will be the jury president. He will be joined by Julia Piaton, Elodie Bouchez, Nicolas Maury, Sylvie Testud, Christophe Ono-dit-Biot, and finally, the screenwriter, director, and author Danièle Thompson. With the intent to open the festival to the youth, a Student Prize has been established. This prize aims to reward the French film adapted from a novel that most captivates a jury composed exclusively of students from Nice.
