Nice advances its candidacy: “Present at this ceremony, I naturally reminded the President of the French Swimming Federation of the city of Nice’s candidacy,” said the Mayor of Nice.
On the occasion of the New Year wishes to the sports world, President Nicolas Sarkozy confirmed that he wanted to equip France with this large aquatic complex that our country lacks to position itself for hosting a major championship.
“Present at this ceremony, I naturally reminded the President of the French Swimming Federation of the city of Nice’s candidacy,” said the Mayor of Nice.
The performances of Nice’s swimmers from Olympic Nice Natation (Camille Muffat, Yannick Agnel, or Clément Lefert), multi-medalists in 2010 and notably at the recent World Short Course Swimming Championships in Dubai, are strong arguments for Nice to become the French capital of swimming by hosting this aquatic center in the Plaine du Var, with an Olympic pool, several other pools, a diving pit, and a training center.
