The Metropolis Nice Cรดte d’Azur invited attendees last night to Place Massena to discover the work of information, awareness, and prevention carried out by the recycling ambassadors.

Pierre Paul Lรฉonelli – Deputy Mayor in charge of Cleanliness, Collection, the fight against damage to the living environment, and Proximity – welcomed 15 recycling ambassadors last night at Place Massena, who were appointed to raise awareness about recycling practices. After the implementation of selective collection in the metropolitan area several years ago, Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, sought to further his environmental and sustainable development policy by recruiting these ambassadors.

The “ambassadors” have the task of engaging with Nice’s residents during a new time slot: from 5 PM to 8 PM, Monday to Friday, in addition to Saturday mornings from 9 AM to 1 PM. 4,000 families have already been contacted, and the feedback is positive.

These ambassadors have also received training from the company Citeo, a partner of the Metropolis Nice Cรดte d’Azur, in so-called “engaging” communication to best respond to residents’ questions. This communication technique relies on dialogue and persuasion to lead to small, sustainable changes on the part of the public.

The recycling ambassadors also conduct outreach with young audiences in schools and leisure centers. Thousands of children have already been initiated into the right actions to properly sort their waste.
