On the occasion of its General Assembly, the European Forum for Urban Security (Efus) has renewed the composition of its executive committee. The City of Nice was unanimously elected Vice-President by the entire Efus network.
Presided over by the City of Liège in Belgium, Efus is the only European network of local and regional authorities dedicated to urban security. It comprises 250 members – cities, local authorities, associated institutions, and various partners – who share a common commitment: to work on a pan-European scale on issues of crime prevention and urban security. Sixteen countries are represented in it.
Since the Nice Declaration in September 2017, for which 62 mayors from 19 countries united against violent extremism and in favor of the protection of cities in Europe and the Mediterranean, the City of Nice has been heavily involved in security issues at the European level.
From October 20 to 22, 2021, Nice will host the major international Efus conference “Security, Democracy & Cities” with 1000 participants expected.
