This Saturday, Place Garibaldi is decked out in Téléthon colors. The French Association against Myopathies invites you to explore the various animation stands set up in Nice for this 37th edition.
On the agenda: meet the associations, attend dance and singing performances, and participate in fun exercises proposed by the firefighters mobilized for the occasion.
Since 1987, the Téléthon, an association of patients and parents of patients, has organized an annual charity event thanks to the French Association against Myopathies (AFM) to support research.
This year, communities come together with singer Vianney, the patron of the 2023 edition to spread the message “Muscle your Téléthon.” Through multiple actions in towns and villages across France, “the healthy muscle is at the service of the sick muscle”.
Better Support for Patients
To raise awareness among the population of the French Riviera about donating to better support people with myopathic diseases, the municipal swimming pools and Animanice centers are participating. They are offering various activities on December 8 and 9, with proceeds going to the Téléthon. You will find aquatic animations, sports activities, exhibitions and sales, and performances.
Since 2005, the city of Nice alongside the AFM has set up a collection in municipal buildings where a donation box is accessible, especially at the main town hall. The funds collected are donated to the French Association against Myopathies AFM – Téléthon.
The sum of donations aims to finance research projects on rare genetic and neuromuscular diseases, new social actions, and also support patients and their families. To make a donation, you can visit the Téléthon website or call 3637.
The Program in Detail
Friday, December 8 at Espace Grappelli at 8 PM: Dance gala by the students of AnimaNice Cimiez. Entry: 5€. Open to all.
Saturday, December 9, on Place Garibaldi, from 10 AM to 4 PM: animation stands, workshops, crepe sales, dance and singing performances.
From 11 AM to 5 PM: activities by Nice firefighters (water hose handling, fire truck tour and first aid workshop) and a cohesion running race (departure at 10 AM/10:30 AM).
Saturday, December 9 at the municipal swimming pools Jean Médecin, Jean Bouin, Saint-François, Saint-Augustin, Saint-Roch, Falicon, and Ariane: aquatic activities, some of which require reservations.
Entry fee: 2€ for children – 5€ for adults. The full proceeds will be donated to the Téléthon.
Saturday, December 9 at Animanice Pasteur, from 8:30 AM to 4 PM: a garage sale to benefit the Téléthon.
Saturday, December 9, Futsal tournament at Nicolaï stadium from 10 AM to 2 PM (2€ participation in favor of the Téléthon collected by Monte Bornala Club).
