The PLSP is a tool that contributes to the local development of a health promotion strategy and the reduction of health and social inequalities. It aims to improve access to prevention and care, promote on-the-ground actions adapted to the health needs of the Nice population in partnership with medical, social, and associative professionals.
It strengthens the coordination between different local authorities: City of Nice, Nice Côte d’Azur Urban Community, General Council, University Hospital Center of Nice, Regional Health Agency Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur (ARS), territorial delegation of Alpes-Maritimes, Departmental Directorate of Youth and Sports and Social Cohesion, and the Municipal Social Action Center.
The Public Health Plan encompasses several themes:
– Prevention and health education,
– Access to rights and healthcare,
– Mental health and the psychosocial environment,
– Environmental health.
In relation to these themes and alongside the strong initiatives supported by the City of Nice (local relay of the national plan against cancer, fight against Alzheimer’s disease, health and quality of life for seniors…), the PLSP sets the following primary objectives:
– Identify and provide support to overweight students and raise awareness about balanced nutrition to combat obesity,
– Promote oral hygiene,
– Prevent addictive behaviors among young people,
– Ensure real continuity of care and promote access to rights for vulnerable populations,
– Support aging migrant populations,
– Engage in an environmental health policy,
– Remedy substandard housing.
