Holidays are often synonymous with rest and fun for young people. But for parents, it’s a whole different story. It’s a headache to find activities suitable for their children. For the winter holidays, the city of Nice offers a range of varied activities for young and old alike.
Skiing, hiking, dancing, carnival paradesโฆ So many choices the city of Nice offers its youth during the winter holidays of 2011. From February 21st to March 4th, students from the Nice academy will be able to enjoy the activities offered to them. Winter holidays mean winter sports, and leisure centers have certainly understood this by organizing activities around the theme “snowball effect.” For the younger ones (6-12 years), the Colmiane, Valberg, Auron, and Beuil resorts, in partnership with the General Council, are organizing stays at their snow schools. The older ones (13 to 17 years) will be able to enjoy an “all snow” stay in the Mercantour domain. On the agenda, hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, etc.
Festive animations
In addition to the activities related to winter sports, young people from Nice can participate in carnival parades. Notably in the carnival processions of Saint Augustin on March 3rd and of Nice Nord on March 9th. In this context, children can try their hand at creating the big heads unique to the Nice carnival. The winter holiday activities will end on Friday, March 4, 2011, with a dance performance by 200 children in the city center.
A range of activities for all holidays
The winter holidays are not over yet, but the leisure centers are developing programs for the spring holidays from April 18 to 30, 2011. Spring will be sporty for the young people of Nice. The theme “Stay active” will set the pace for the holidays of the younger ones (3 to 12 years) who will discover numerous sports activities and will have the chance to participate in an Olympiad at the end of the holidays. For those aged 13/17, it will be “sport and culture,” with music, singing, outdoor raids, and many activities that will allow children to thrive during their holidays.
