Do you know the different components of a battery, a motor, or a light bulb? Have you ever wondered how to establish fair cooperation between countries rich and poor in water? The Citรฉ des sciences et de l’industrie can answer all these questions. The institution’s solid reputation has led Mougins to organize, in partnership with the Citรฉ des sciences, four playful, interactive, and educational exhibitions from October 23 to January 23, 2011, at the town’s รcoโParc. A first in the PACA region. A special path has been specially designed to spark curiosity, accompanying children or teenagers in their playful quest for knowledge. Of course, adults will also find their place in this scientific universe.
1,500 m2 of exhibitions
The public will have the opportunity to discover how electricity works. They will be able to manipulate, create electrical circuits, etc. And since there is no electricity without water, they will have the chance to experiment with and discover concrete solutions to save water, produce it, preserve it, and share it. Added to this is the construction site: only children will be allowed access under the supervision of a facilitator. Little ones will need to build a house using their hard hats, safety vests, wheelbarrows, bricks, and tools. Staying in construction, children will have the opportunity to build a bridge, an igloo, and discover the main principles of architecture. These four experimental workshops will be complemented by photographs by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, which lead visitors to reflect on the world of today and tomorrow. From the age of 3, children can already discover the world of construction with bricks, a wheelbarrow, and a crane. An activity that encourages spatial awareness, motor skills development, and communication.
