The prestigious plenary evening of the CJD (Center for Young Directors) of Nice will take place on June 6 at 6:30 PM at the CUM in Nice (Mediterranean University Center).

The theme for this edition is “ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE,” and the guest of honor is extreme adventurer Philippe Croizon.

His recounting of his story and achievements will be fascinating and full of meaning and value.

Philippe Croizon explains why he wants to embrace life: “I do it mostly for myself, but also to set an example. I want to show people who suffer that it is doable, that you must always fight,” “I hope to be a symbol of self-transcendence.”

On December 16, 2011, he was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor by Nicolas Sarkozy, President of the French Republic. He has received many other distinctions.

Something to dream about…

On August 19, 2010, he made a round trip from Noirmoutier to Pornic in 10 hours, plus two hours spinning around in the Pornic harbor to meet the requirements of his coach.

A month later, on September 18, at the age of 42, he swam between Folkestone and Cape Gris-Nez in 13 hours and 26 minutes, accompanied for some time by three dolphins.

On January 10, 2013, Philippe CROIZON set the diving depth record for a quadruple amputee by reaching the bottom at 33 meters (Nemo 33, near Brussels, then the deepest pool in the world).

Just a few months after his English Channel crossing, he decided with his friend Arnaud Chassery to link the 5 continents by swimming in 100 days. The expedition is named: Swimming Beyond Borders. He completed this challenge on August 18, 2012. A 110-minute documentary film was made about it.

On November 13, 2015, Philippe CROIZON announced his intention to run the 2017 Dakar Rally assisted by Cédric DUPLÉ and Yves Tartarin, who participated 18 times in the event. They competed in the 2017 Dakar Rally. Despite repeated mechanical failures every day on the track, he achieved his goal by reaching Buenos Aires on January 14, 2017. He finished the Dakar in 48th place.
