The president of the Foundation, Bernadette Chirac, awarded the Claude Pompidou Prize this Friday at the Claude Pompidou Institute in Nice. The institute is entirely dedicated to Alzheimer’s disease.
This ceremony took place in the presence of Christian Estrosi, President of the Paca Region, Phillipe Pradal, Mayor of Nice, Béatrice Rosen and Brahim Asloum, patrons of the Foundation, Emmanuelle Boidron, ambassador of the Foundation, and Farah Diba, former Empress of Iran.
A week before World Alzheimer’s Day, Professor Stéphanie Debette received a grant of 100,000 euros, which will allow her research center to be equipped with a server suited to her work.
Stephanie Debette explains more specifically: “Thanks to this prize, we have the opportunity to acquire a computing server or supercomputer. These pieces of equipment enable work on the genetic determinants of brain aging.”
This research could identify people at risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease later on, thus targeting them for prevention strategies.
The Foundation reaffirms and maintains its commitment to the fight against this dreadful disease that currently affects 900,000 patients in France.
