Located opposite the “Deux Avenues” bus stop near Boulevard Cessole in Nice, the place de l’horloge was closed a few days ago.
It was a Nice resident on Twitter “Nice2030” who asked for the reasons for this closure because according to him “no prior information to the residents, no consultation, no communication from the City / Metropolis” took place.
An association, “Grainn Associations,” responded to the user by providing the reasons for this closure, stating that it results from years of requests from residents and neighborhood associations… overwhelmed by nuisances, brawls, nighttime traffic & drunks situation.”
This closure results from years of requests from residents & neighborhood associations including GRAINN, overwhelmed by nuisances, brawls, nighttime traffic & drunks. But you are right about the contempt & lack of communication, the residents of Gorbella know it all too well

The Nice Côte d’Azur metropolis also commented on “Nice”’s post, confirming Grainn association’s statements: “In response to numerous complaints from residents and three neighborhood committees due to significant nuisances generated by the small square de l’Horloge day and night for several years (supported by letters), the “Heart of Nice” area has therefore proposed the extension of the closure of this space.”
The metropolis also informed about ongoing work set to finish in mid-November. A fence will be installed, part of the playground will be replaced, and a repainting will also be carried out.
Until mid-November, work is underway: installation of a fence around the square, replacement of some playground railings with guardrails, and repainting of the new urban furniture.
