Beautiful words and some flights of rhetoric cannot hide the reality: this collective aims to become a place of synthesis to facilitate the inclusion of political affiliations (and positions) – official “Macronists,” Macron-compatible or not opposed a priori – against those who pronounce anathemas by proclaiming republican values, except when they misinterpret them, referring to principles that negate them (authoritarianism instead of authority, national-populism instead of social-liberalism).
To avoid misunderstanding, it’s also an attempt to unite under the same banner elected officials or candidates in the 2020 municipal elections from diverse backgrounds, a “mixed salad” in which everyone can find themselves: doesn’t the definition “assembly of consultation and cohesion” leave the door open to any interpretation?
Besides, the title of this collective is already its program, and the apparent subtlety is quite intentional: “EME06” casts a wide net, including “the mayors who supported Emmanuel Macron’s candidacy” (sounds familiar, doesn’t it?). Isn’t Ensemble the municipal group in Nice (Nice Ensemble), in the Metropolis (Metropolis Ensemble), and in the Departmental Council (Department Ensemble) that recognizes and supports Christian Estrosiโs leadership?
What to think? Is it a warm-up in case The Republicans deny Christian Estrosi the endorsement for the Nice mayoral race (and in other minor cases, less prominent but also significant), preferring orthodox Eric Ciotti, thus opening the door to an independent candidacy?

Creation of the collective “En Marche Ensemble 06”
EME06 acts in accordance with the value charter of LaREM and the charter of 10 commitments of the local elected official established by the movement.
EME06 aims to locally support and relay the government’s action, to produce ideas and positions intended to enrich the discussion on major departmental and regional issues.
“EME06” also aims to enrich the reflection of the political committee defined by the statutes of the En Marche movement by expanding the number of its members in order to make the most collegial and thus the most informed endorsement decisions for future elections: municipal, senatorial, departmental, regional.
EME06 brings together national councilors, LaREM local elected officials, former legislative candidates, deputies, referents, but also mayors who supported Emmanuel Macron’s candidacy or express their desire to be allies of EnMarche, as well as our national political partners such as the MoDem.
EME06 is a collective that functions as an assembly of consultation and cohesion. It may, if necessary, form an association.
In the context of municipal elections and for each municipality, decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis, respecting gender parity and in consultation. EME06 will provide a reasoned opinion to the CNI.
To facilitate, enrich, and organize exchanges and reflection, it is proposed to the members of the collective to form thematic working commissions with members on specific skills. For example, here are some commission themes: Mobility – Sustainable development – Europe-Economy and Employment – Health and solidarity – Security – Incivility – Culture and education – AI – Gender equality.
