Time passes but memory remains vivid…
The ad hoc Committee formed by members of the Promenade des Anges Association, which brings together the families of the victims and a group of city officials in addition to representatives from State Services, is still at work.
The last meeting held yesterday reviewed several files.
The first among them is the social support for victims.
The exceptional permanent commission set up at CCAS, which has been managing collected funds since July 20, 2016 (€732,808.79, or 1,802 donations), has reviewed 940 cases and allocated €721,100.
When this fund is exhausted, the CCAS will continue to support families within the framework of aid granted under common law, via the permanent commission.
The July 14 ceremonies are and will remain a delicate subject: should we return to normalcy and make it a day of mourning and remembrance?
For this year, the Committee has decided to opt for sobriety (no fireworks, whose return is postponed to 2019), and the ceremony will be divided into three phases: one commemorative at Villa Masséna in the morning; a second, ceremonial, in the afternoon with the military parade; the last, at night, with a symphonic concert and the symbolic release of 86 balloons.
Finally, the temporary memorial installed in the gardens of Villa Masséna since May 2017, which has become the place for national and international tributes, both public and private, will be maintained.
The creation of an information and documentation center on radicalization and terrorism is the subject of ongoing work by a reflection group with the support of a specialized consultancy.
Additionally, the 32nd Assises of France Victims, themed “The experience of collective traumatic events: what evolutions in victim support?” will be held on June 19 and 20 at the CUM. 400 delegates are expected, with the conclusion of the conference by Elisabeth Pelsez, Interministerial Delegate for Victim Support.
