Members of the French Communist Party were called to the polls to determine their common discussion platform for their 36th congress, which will be held from February 7 to 10, 2013, in Aubervilliers.

The text proposed by the PCF National Council, “It’s High Time to Relight the Stars – The Humanifesto of the Communist Party at the Dawn of the New Century,” was adopted by 73.15% of the votes cast.

Robert Injey, national secretary of the PCF, comments on it:

“This result demonstrates a strong willingness among communists to continue and amplify the momentum that has been underway since their last congress. It also reflects the spirit and ambition with which they wish to fuel their struggle against the crisis and capitalism, in a Citizen’s Revolution more necessary than ever.

The adopted text is now the shared asset of all communists. But this vote is far from closing the debates. It opens a new phase of our reflection that must allow us to deepen and refine our analyses as well as our orientations. It must also enable us to gather more strongly.

In the coming weeks, we call on communists to continue the work undertaken to enrich this common basis and to make our congress a resounding political event for our people.”
