The communists leading the protest movement for transport policy in Ariane.

Starting from December 1st, line 16, which connects Ariane to the city center, will be stopped at the Vauban stop of tram line 1. After that, travelers will be required to transfer from the bus to the tramway. According to communist representatives Robert Injey and Emmanuelle Gaziello, this decision is not trivial and will further isolate this popular neighborhood.

For this reason, this Friday, on the occasion of the meeting of the Transport Authority, which will deliberate on this new organization of line 16, the communist representatives will be in Ariane to launch a popular petition campaign to oppose it.

Robert Injey stated: “It is clear that with the resumption of direct management, the Mayor of Nice intends to reorganize transport policy based on the demographics of the districts’ inhabitants. Just look at what is happening in Cimiez or Rimiez: residents benefit from lines 15, 17, 20, 24, 25, and 36 to reach many areas. Christian Estrosi needs to quickly revise his plan; we will not accept this urban segregation.”

After the Mayor’s refusal to extend tram line 1 to Ariane, this decision is very likely to trigger new controversies!

“It will not be our responsibility. When Mr. Rudy Salles responded to my insistence by advising the people of Ariane to use regional trains, I wonder whether it’s ignorance or provocation. Does he even know what he’s talking about? I invite him to use public transport instead of a chauffeured company car. Then, he will have clearer ideas,” concluded the highly agitated communist representative.

This issue is far from being shelved.
