The University Choir of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis is giving a series of four concerts under the direction of Bertrand Dutour de Salvert, a professor at the Pierre Cochereau Conservatory in Nice:
– May 25 at the “LโAvant Scรจne” auditorium, University Center of St Jean dโAngรฉly, Nice, at 8 PM.
– May 26 at St Paulโs Church, 26 Avenue de Pessicart, Nice, at 8 PM,
– June 2 at the Holy Shroud Chapel, 1 rue du Saint Suaire, Nice, at 8 PM,
– June 3 at the Basilica of Bon Voyage, Square Mรฉrimรฉe, Cannes, at 6:30 PM.
The program includes a first part a cappella (four-voice secular songs from the Renaissance to the present day), followed by a section of sacred music featuring two cantatas by J.S. Bach with orchestral accompaniment and soloists: Cantata BWV 131 “Aus der Tiefen,” and Cantata BWV 61 “Nun Komm.”
The choir is a friendly structure that brings together students and staff from all the university’s campuses and truly reflects the richness of the university.
