The European Movement France 06, in partnership with the Franco-German Cultural Center, is organizing a conference on the European situation: “United Kingdom and Germany in Turmoil”.
Alex Taylor, a renowned European journalist and host, with experience in radio, TV, and newspapers in France, Germany, and Belgium, along with his German colleague, journalist, and Die ZEIT correspondent in France, Annika Joeres, will share their insights, analysis, and experiences as “European citizens” living in France.
The debate will certainly focus on Brexit, which may be reconsidered, as reflected in the feelings of a British journalist who no longer wishes to be English following the vote, having recently acquired French nationality.
Another topic will be the functioning of the coalition in Germany’s new government, which is hindering the reforms supported by Emmanuel Macron due to a lack of genuine support.
It goes without saying that the rise of nationalism in Europe, which dangerously alters the EU’s purpose one year before the European elections, will be discussed.
