A major global restructuring operation of the Nice University Hospital, the construction of the Pasteur 2 hospital, with an area of 81,000 m2, represents a project of national scope and a significant challenge for the city of Nice and the department. It materializes the consolidation of the current Pasteur site with that of Saint-Roch and operates in complementarity with the Archet site.
With a capacity of 730 beds and spaces (more than 80% single-bed rooms), 2 MRIs and 3 scanners, a shared technical platform of 16,000 m2, and 27 operating rooms, the facility is designed on a human scale to fit into the urban renovation project of the Pasteur district initiated by the city of Nice.
Pasteur 2 will offer great accessibility for users: it will be served by the extension of tram line 1 and will feature a parking lot with 1,000 spaces.
Total operation cost as of March 1, 2011: €352 million, all expenses included.

- The new Pasteur site, reconfigured with Pasteur 2, will bring together over 2,700 hospital staff members.
It will welcome nearly 270,000 outpatient visits per year (excluding emergencies). It contributes to the revitalization of the Pasteur district.
- First phase delivery in mid-2013, allowing the relocation of the Saint-Roch hospital in the following months.
Almost concurrent opening of phase 1 with the extension of tram line 1.

And medical-technical support functions: Imaging cluster, Pharmacy cluster, Anesthesia-Resuscitation cluster.
For phase 1, as of today: 90% of the main structure is completed, 20% of the air and water networks, 15% of the electrical networks, 50% of the partitions, and 60% of the exterior joinery.
