The coronavirus epidemic is gaining momentum again.
- 14 people have died in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of victims to 30,354 since the start of the epidemic, announced the General Directorate of Health (DGS) in its daily report this Tuesday, August 11.
- 1,397 new cases have been detected in the last 24 hours, and more than 11,223 have been detected in one week. 191 new hospital admissions have been recorded, for a total of 5,012 patients currently hospitalized. Among them, 21 new severe patients have been admitted to intensive care, bringing the total number of patients in these units to 391, compared to 396 yesterday.
- 319 “clusters,” or infection hotspots, are still active in the territory, including 28 new ones detected in the last 24 hours. Between August 2 and August 8, 600,262 tests were conducted in the territory, with a positivity rate of 2.1%. Since the beginning of the epidemic, 108,485 people have been hospitalized, and 83,237 have returned home.
