To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the Hippodrome invites us tonight to the first of the 5 “Destination Voyage” evenings of the Summer Meeting: Destination Fifties Forever, featuring an exhibition of vintage cars from the 50s-60s, fashion shows, acrobatic rock dance, live rock ‘n’ roll music, and… a trip to Paris, the fashion capital, to win as part of the Grand Jeu Destination Voyage of the Summer, which will take place every Monday until August 6th.
A 60th Anniversary evening where 5 American vintage cars from the 50s-60s will be showcased at the Hippodrome: 2 Hot-Rods, 1 Pick-Up, and 2 convertible Ford Mustangs. 5 vintage Harley Davidsons, emblematic of the American dream, will roar before the public.
A dancing couple will perform acrobatic rock, while the three musicians and singers of the group “SWAMP CATS” (the Marshland Cats) will cover rock ‘n’ roll rockabilly standards from the greats: Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran…
The trio, reminiscent of 50s teenagers and composed of a singer-guitarist-harmonicist, a double bassist, and a drummer, will transport the audience into the typical American universe of the time.
Between races, models and dancers, symbolizing the fashion and elegance of the 50s-60s through their outfits, will present choreographed fashion shows.
A splendid Firework display will light up the azure sky at the end of the evening, after the races.
