The Côte d’Azur Regional Olympic and Sports Committee: 40 years serving the sports movement in the Côte d’Azur

The 40th anniversary was celebrated with distinction at the Marineland of Antibes and was honored by the presence of nearly 200 people, including some founding members who received a unique award for their commitment.

Everyone contributed to the creation of the CROS Côte d’Azur, one of the first to emerge on the national level, on December 19, 1973. Initially, there were six sports disciplines and the desire of Claude COLLARD, the President of the CNOSF at the time, who wanted a policy of decentralization.

Four Presidents have led the Regional Committee to what it has become today: Mr. André Bronford (1973-1977), Mr. Louis Bioancotti (1977-1986), Mr. Pierre Cambreal (1986-2009), Mr. Alain Koubi (since 2009).

The location was not chosen by chance either, as it was in Antibes that the CROS was born and evolved until 2003 before moving to the Maison Régionale des Sports de Mandelieu.

The evening was also an opportunity to reward women leaders for their voluntary commitment to the service of sports. Indeed, often mothers, with sometimes demanding professional roles, they manage their League or Committee with a strength that commands respect.
