Pierre Gautier Square and Cours Saleya will come alive starting this Friday, May 4, with the first edition of the “Saleya Live” event, which will offer free concerts and activities every weekend until June 29, featuring jazz, musette, and pop-rock sounds…
For this first edition, the City of Nice invites you to discover, or rediscover from 6:30 PM, the Frédéric Viale Trio with its jazzy accents and Latin influences, followed by Plume’s new tribe, which after a notable and remarkable solo career, offers a vocal quartet off the beaten path.
Frédéric Viale Trio (Jazz)-6:30 PM
The album “Lames Latines” was released in October 2009. Filled with very Latin influences mixing jazz, tango, and Brazilian music, the album quickly imposed itself as a new reference in terms of accordion music.
For the year 2012, Frédéric VIALE is preparing his third trio album with Zaza Desiderio (drums) and Natalino Netto (bass).
It is likely that this jazz album will mark the accordion world with the personality of its leader and his compositions, making one forget that the accordion was originally the instrument of musette balls!
Plume Tribu (Pop/Jazz) – 7:30 PM
Do you know the sound of the tick-tock inside a circus performer’s brain? The heartbeat of a baobab?
Plume, after 3 years of a solo project and 2 years as a trio, returns this time as a playful and ethnic vocal quartet tribe.
An unsettling journey in pop-jazz that talks about forest spirits, Maasai warriors, and giant elephants… From the latest trips to the Algerian desert and Ecuador, the second album “Le Chaînon Manquant,” released at the beginning of 2011, was born.
A Tribe that beats the tempo off the beaten paths.
