The coronavirus epidemic continues to rage: 384 people have died, bringing the death toll to 50,618 victims, including those who passed away in nursing homes and medico-social establishments, announced Public Health France and the Ministry of Health this Wednesday.
16,282 new cases have been detected in the last 24 hours. The previous day, 9,155 people had tested positive. In total, 11,420 new hospitalizations have been recorded over the past seven days, including 1,733 in intensive care.
The positivity rate continues to decrease: it stands at 13% this Wednesday. 3,724 “clusters” or epidemiological hotspots are currently under investigation, including 1,589 in nursing homes.
100 departments remain in a state of high vulnerability. The Alpes-Maritimes is part of this list.
