Like every year, the Regional Olympic and Sports Committee of PACA (CROS) presented its best wishes to the Azurian sports community. The CROS also rewards those who made an impact in 2014: athletes, leaders, volunteers, all in a friendly atmosphere despite the somber events of the last few days.
On this day of mourning across France, the ceremony began with a tribute to the victims of the attack that took place in Paris last Wednesday, followed by a poignant minute of silence. A strong gesture requested by Pierre Cambreal, President of the CROS Cรดte d’Azur. On this occasion, one of the theaters of La Strada cinema in Mouans-Sarthoux was fully occupied.
“The year 2015 promises to be pivotal with the territorial reform. Many questions at the start of a barely begun year. But as a sportsman who never gives up, I remain confident about the future and wish the entire Azurian association community a very beautiful year in 2015,” announced Pierre Cambreal.
After the traditional speech, the CROS leaders, accompanied by local officials, presented many trophies to the guests for their achievements in 2014 or their dedication to regional sport. The evening ended with a beautiful group photo of all the awardees before sharing the King’s cake.
