The “Cuisine niçoise Collective” and the LEO Club united in the “pan bagnat” operation.

In these times of lockdown, easing of restrictions, and partial freedoms that have forced us into partial idleness, some have brainstormed to find ways to be active and provide service through useful and, at times, delightful initiatives!

Two partners, the Collectif Cuisine Niçoise and the Authentique pizzeria, teamed up to create a pan bagnat in the purest Niçoise tradition, sold for €7.50, with the added bonus of receiving the official 2020 label from the Commune Libre du Pan Bagnat.

The pan bagnats, which were not picked up on-site, were delivered yesterday by young members of the LEO Club Nice Comté de Nice association.

Aurélien Maiolino, head of the Collectif Cuisine Niçoise, explains the initiative: “In the end, we reached 400, with a hundred allocated to the employees of two Niçoise nursing homes. And we declined more than 400 other orders during this last week. We have also implemented two solidarity actions by supporting small local producers with the purchase of basic products and by donating all the profits from this sale to the LEO Club Nice Comté de Nice association.”
