In the presence of authorities, association representatives, and resistance fighters or their family members, a simple but memory-laden ceremony took place in the small park of Villa Thiole in remembrance of the National Day of Resistance*.

This body was created by the Free France around Jean Moulin to provide more cohesion and efficiency to the various French Resistance movements during the Occupation.
The importance of the links between Jean Moulin and Nice is well known; the apartment where he lived during his stay in Nice is located at 22 rue de France, on the first floor of the building on the ground floor of which he had opened an art gallery to disguise his true activities. The Administrative Center Tower also bears his name.
