Jean-Paul Serra, President of CDOS 06: “The CDOS is 35 years old; it was created in 1975. Finally, after dreaming about the project for the Departmental Sports House, a first meeting was held with the City of Nice, and a next meeting is scheduled for April. I have observed a shared desire to achieve this goal.”

The CDOS is an essential partner for events organized in the department. Last year, 7 events ranging from one-day to two-month durations were organized by the CDOS.
Additionally, through the provision of equipment such as walkie-talkies, car podiums, or meeting human resource needs, the CDOS participated in more than 73 various events in support of departmental committees and other institutions.
Totaling 76 days in the field in contact with the public, dedicated to sports development in 2010.
With these numerous events and collaborations in other events, the Alpes-Maritimes CDOS is one of the most active on the national level.
CDOS Events in 2010
The MIN Festival
For the fifth year, the MIN promotes sports during their festival which gathered nearly 100,000 people this year.
Stands and sports initiations allowed the general public to try and discover new activities. 25 different disciplines were represented.
A colossal organization ranging from installing a pool to creating a sand arena for horses, to the distribution of 300 meals and the logistics of this entire crowd.
The Sport Caravan
More than 1500 young people discovered 15 sports disciplines during the summer.
A dozen coastal, mid-country, and hinterland municipalities hosted the 2010 tour.
This event is so successful that in recent years some weekdays have been added to weekend stages.
It should be noted that the Sport Caravan involves more than 25 volunteers, some of whom have been loyal for nearly 10 years.
Sport Enthusiasm
Reaching out to the general public where they are!
The Carrefour Lingostière Shopping Center records visits from more than 20,000 people over the weekend.
More than 330 initiations in 9 disciplines were offered by 22 volunteers. But our presence goes well beyond these initiations. Real information is provided to the public. Advice on the activity, guidance toward a club based on age, desire for performance, or a person’s place of residence is provided upon request.
Sport Health Well-being
Sport is not necessarily linked to physical performance; now the whole family can engage in sports activities.
Everyone has a different goal.
Sport, Health, and Well-being are part of a lifestyle.
Staying fit as long as possible through sports is now recognized.
That is why these two days comprising four conferences on this theme and sports activities suitable for everyone had to take place.
Two locations were chosen: in the heart of Nice at Place Masséna and in Saint Laurent du Var, on the Esplanade des Goélands.
More than 2550 people took interest in sports and participated in various workshops offered by the Committees and clubs.
A vast subject that deserves to be developed.
7th Trophy of the Alps and the Sea
If sport facilitates encounters, this will be among the special moments of 2010 for these 420 young Franco/Italian athletes.
Four disciplines: Athletics, Swimming, Volleyball, and Judo allowed the teams from Cuneo, Imperia, and Nice to compete in a friendly spirit, so much so that all wish to develop these encounters with other disciplines as was the case in Nice with Gymnastics.
Carrefour Lingostière
Direct contact with the public has led to another presence this year, from November 20 to December 22, 2010, in the shopping mall of Carrefour Lingostière.
The objective was to promote ski resorts and various sports disciplines.
16 Departmental Committees joined these days to offer sports initiations.
Thus, 90 passes were distributed by the resorts, and 1400 people were able to enjoy these activities.
Training Sessions
In 2010: 27 training sessions were given, corresponding to 153 registrations or 869 hours of courses.
Infographics
Production of nearly 90 documents as varied as: the Chrono (which increased from 4/8 pages to 8/12 or 16 pages), posters, flyers, invitations, brochures, press releases, badges, plans, banners, panels, logos, etc.
CNDS Files
As every year, the CDOS trains, assists, and advises the committees in drafting their CNDS grant applications. The commission handled and supported more than 470 files again this year.
