Charles-Ange Ginésy has made the Smart Deal one of the levers of his vision for the attractiveness of the territory.
“I want to make digital transition a major focus of my actions,” is his favorite slogan.
In this context, he presented a new project yesterday, a digital competition in the themes of tourism (1) and sports (2).
The objective is to acquire new digital tools in these areas, which are key drivers of the department’s economic development.
Tourism, with 11 million visitors, constitutes one of the pillars of the local economy.
Sports offerings also occupy an important place thanks to the organization of numerous events, such as the Nice Cannes Marathon, the Ultra-Trail Mercantour, the Euro-pétanque, and a unique facility, the Vesubia Mountain Park in Saint-Martin de Vésubie.
This competition is primarily aimed at student entrepreneurship and start-ups.
The winners (one per sector), announced in October after the jury deliberation co-chaired by the Department and Incubateur Paca-Est, will be entitled to a year of support from the latter.
(1) Tourism: the competition could involve interactive kiosks, matchmaking platforms, or applications aimed at showcasing our tourism potential, meeting customer needs, facilitating reservations & itineraries.
(2) Sports: It involves imagining applications, connected objects, that could support people in their sporting activities, strengthen the training of high-level athletes, and promote the activities that can be practiced in the area.
