This Tuesday, Charles Ange Ginésy attended the “Victoires de l’investissement local 2023” as part of the Salon des Maires de Paris to receive, on behalf of the Alpes-Maritimes Department, the Jury’s Special Prize.
Presented by Alain Grizaud, President of the National Federation of Public Works (FNTP), and David Lisnard, Mayor of Cannes and President of the Mayors of France association, this title undoubtedly holds special significance. Awarded for the work undertaken in the Roya Valley following storm Alex, three years ago, the Department has now completed 95% of the reconstruction project, and all road access has been restored. The commitment of the community to revive the valley and support its economic fabric in the shortest time possible resulted in an investment of €200 million for reconstruction, supplemented by €1.1 million for businesses affected by the storm.
“This prize holds particular significance”
Charles Ange Ginésy
In the presence notably of Christophe Béchu, Minister of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister of Energy Transition, and Jérôme Ivanez, President of the National Federation of PACA Public Works, Charles Ange Ginésy did not hide his joy at being recognized for all the efforts made in recent months:
“It is an honor for the Alpes-Maritimes Department to receive the Jury’s Special Prize at the Victoires de l’Investissement Local! I want to share this award with the public works companies incredibly committed to these projects and the Department’s services, which have been fully invested from the very first moment in the reconstruction of our beautiful Roya Valley. This prize holds particular significance, especially as our territory has been struck once more by bad weather during storm Aline. This episode allowed us to successfully test the resilience of the new structures and demonstrate our responsiveness in helping affected populations. Strengthened by the positive outcomes of the Roya reconstruction, the Alpes-Maritimes Department will continue to work in great synergy with businesses to quickly complete the work.”
