The graduation ceremony for these young volunteer students from three institutions in the regions of Puget-Théniers, Cannes, and Nice was an opportunity to reflect on the Cadets’ journey since their commitment nine months ago.
Over the course of 16 Wednesday afternoons, from October 2021 to May 2022, these young individuals were able to explore the military before the age of military preparation, learn more about the many careers in defense, engage in physical and recreational activities, as well as cultural and commemorative events, and meet other young people from different cultures but driven by the same ideals.
The Defense Cadets program, which is one of the components of the Equal Opportunity Plan created in 2008 by the Ministry of Defense, meets the aspirations of young girls and boys who wish to become true ambassadors of the values of the Republic. This program has been active in the Alpes-Maritimes territory since 2018, with the participation of the military, the Gendarmerie, school principals, educational teams, and the Alpes-Maritimes Department.
