Four swimmers from the French Riviera represented France at the Special Olympics Games, and Jordan Minglis and Alexis Dupont, also swimmers from the French Riviera, won medals.
Last night, they received the Department’s medal from the hands of Deputy Eric Ciotti, in the presence of Olympic champion Alain Bernard, ambassador of Special Olympics in France.
Special Olympics is the first organization dedicated to the development through sport of people living with intellectual disabilities. Present in 172 countries, Special Olympics brings together more than 5 million athletes and is recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
The Special Olympics France delegation was composed of 85 athletes, participating in 10 sports disciplines at the Special Olympics Games held in Abu Dhabi from March 14 to 21.
