Aware of its share of responsibility and its role as a driving force and leverage on its territory, the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Council has been committed for years to a new energy policy that is more frugal in fossil resources and richer in sustainable solutions.
It has thus mobilized to coordinate the exemplary actions of the communities within its territory through a comprehensive action plan: the Climate Energy Plan, whose goal is to reduce residents’ emissions by 20% by 2020, equivalent to 1.5 million tons of CO2.
This year again, the Department of Alpes-Maritimes, as part of its Climate Energy Plan, renewed the major event “Climate-Energy Trophies of 06”, which rewards the most active players in terms of technological and energy innovation.
The objective of these trophies is to highlight communities, public organizations, companies, and associations engaged in reducing energy consumption and developing renewable energies (RE), clean transportation modes, sustainable constructions, or safeguarding biodiversity.
This year, 21 municipalities, 19 communities and/or public institutions, 27 companies, and 11 associations were in the running to be rewarded.
