Since last Friday, the departmental Micro-Folie is showcasing the project of fifth-grade students on the Niรงois Eugรจne Mรด.
The Mirco-Folie Museum (26 rue Saint-Franรงois de Paule) has been presenting, since Friday, February 16, 2024, the project of two fifth-grade classes. In partnership with Ronchรจse School in Nice, the students worked on an artistic project about the Niรงois aviator Eugรจne Mรด.
This was an opportunity to work in collaboration with the author Jean-Jacques Ninon, who recently published a book about the Niรงois. Thanks to this book, the children were able to create their airplane models. During the opening, Jean-Jacques Ninon showcased his drawing skills by sketching an airplane.
Eugรจne Mรด is a hero of the First World War, killed by the Germans, and until his last breath, he proclaimed his patriotism for France. Today, he is buried in the Saint-Roch Cemetery, and a square bears his name, Place Eugรจne Mรด.
The departmental Micro-Folie is a digital cultural space with an area dedicated to virtual reality to explore the cultural heritage of the Alpes-Maritimes. Currently, and until March 30, 2024, the exhibition “Chasseur de Lumiรจre” by Jadikan is on display.
