The deputy of Alpes-Maritimes, Cรฉdric Roussel, president of the “Sports Economy” study group of the National Assembly, and Franรงois Cormier-Bouligeon, president of the “Sports” study group, have submitted to Prime Minister Jean Castex 50 measures to revive French sports.*
The initiative, evocatively named “Save Sports,” stems from the necessary economic revival of the sports sector, which has been heavily impacted by the crisis.
However, the ambition of the initiators is to give sports a central place in our society through the development of school sports, corporate sports, or health sports.
Supporting Sports at the Local Level
33- Accelerate the deployment of regional sports conferences.
34- Create a Local Council for Physical and Sports Activities, bringing together all sports stakeholders (local authorities, clubs and associations, PE teachers, USEP, UNSS, representatives of university sports students, health sports, corporate sports) and promote the adoption of sports as a communal responsibility.
35- Increase the cap on public aid provided by local authorities for the funding of sports facilities.
36- Rethink the funding criteria for nursing homes (EHPAD) by taking into account the actions implemented by these establishments in terms of physical and sports activities to promote the residents’ independence and well-being.
Fostering Innovation in Sports
37- Create a sports component in the future investment plan: sports-health, sports innovation, innovative modular structures, circular economy, sustainable city, soft mobility.
38- Create the French Tech Sport label.
39- Deploy a digitalization plan for sports practice to modernize the tools available to clubs.
40- Establish a permanent sports advisor within the Public Investment Bank (BPI) to support the development of sports enterprises.
41- Launch a digital platform for sports tourism in partnership with Atout France and tourism professionals.
