The “Duck Races” are coming to Villeneuve-Loubet

Latest News

Initiated in 1988 in Canada, “Duck Races” have gained popularity worldwide in recent years and made their debut in France in 2014. For the first time on the Cรดte d’Azur, they will be in Villeneuve-Loubet this Sunday, October 9, starting at 10 am.

The concept of a “Duck Race” involves selling tickets corresponding to numbered plastic ducks. The ducks are then released on a watercourse, and like in a race, the first to arrive win great prizes.

Each ticket sold for โ‚ฌ3 allows you to adopt a numbered duck that participates in the race. In total, 20,000 ducks are expected to compete in the race, carried by the current of the Loup from the Saint-Georges footbridge of the village.

The first 100 ducks will earn their owners a prize, with a Citroรซn C1 valued at โ‚ฌ12,800 for the first place.

Additionally, there will be activities for the little ones, an introduction to first aid techniques, awareness-raising for environmental protection, and several stands presenting the activities of the Telethon, the Rotary, the Rotaract, and more.
