“Ecogestes Méditerranée” is a collective action deployed across the entire French Mediterranean coast thanks to the mobilization of more than twenty environmental education associations and habitat managers, supported by public and private partners who contribute both technically and financially.
Committed to sustainable development and environmental preservation, the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis is once again participating this year in the “Ecogestes Méditerranée” campaign aimed at sea users.
The objective is to encourage sea users to adopt environmentally friendly practices to protect the Mediterranean coast, home to a great diversity of habitats and animal and plant species. To achieve this, Ecogestes ambassadors will meet boaters at sea or in ports to discuss their practices and offer suggestions for improvement.
The topics covered will include, among others: waste sorting, respectful anchoring, eco-labeled cleaning products, wastewater recovery, and recreational fishing regulations.
On the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolitan coastline, the focus is on mooring areas of the Natura 2000 site Cap Ferrat and the bay of Villefranche.
