fondation_nicolas_hulot-2.png “The ecological pact is neither left nor right-wing. It transcends political divides.” The recurring theme of this information conference was the ecological pact. This initiative, started by the foundation, aims to challenge all candidates and citizens. After being signed by all presidential candidates in previous elections, this pact has enabled numerous proposals to enrich public debate. Its objective: to place ecology at the heart of public and political action.

This conference in Nice allowed Annabelle Jaeger, the Commissioner of the Nicolas Hulot Foundation for Nature and Man, to revisit this ecological pact, but this time, at the local level. She particularly made a connection with the municipal elections to ensure that candidates also sign this pact.

Here are some figures resulting from this ecological pact: there were 75,000 signatures. 45 personalities mobilized during the entire information campaign. 10 presidential election candidates signed the ecological pact. A second-ranking government position was obtained – it is the Minister of State in charge of Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Spatial Planning.

Encouraging results, but despite this, vigilance remains the only watchword, the mission officer specifies. Annabelle Jaeger added that the mission of the foundation is to educate about the environment through educational tools.

The Foundation urges everyone to change their behavior to build a sustainable society.
