The courthouse square was quite crowded during the lunch break, and a large number of employees from the Nice Matin group gathered there to inform passersby about their situation and to make another stand by filing a complaint against the Hersant Media Group (GHM) for “misuse of company assets” and “bankruptcy.”
“We must mobilize to prevent a dismantling,” said the inter-union leaders, standing on the steps of the courthouse, their voices supported by hundreds of colleagues brandishing red flags and wearing T-shirts of the same color with the words “Faรฏ de ben ร Hersant, te le rende en cagan,” which for those unfamiliar means “Do good to Hersant, he’ll pay you back with a load of crap.”
The aim of this demonstration is a new, and probably not the last, attempt to change the situation but this time the velvet glove is forgotten, and the iron hand has struck with a legal complaint against the group’s owners. Employees filing a complaint against their employer is unusual, but is there a chance of achieving their goal?
