The Public Prosecutor has launched an investigation into the funding of the En Nour religious site located in the Plaine du Var.
This follows a complaint by the City Hall of Nice, which has never accepted this project supported by an association that does not fall within the scope of those with which it maintains collaborative relations.*
Christian Estrosi, who has taken this as a personal matter, has always denounced “the opaque funding of this place of worship, whose owner is still the Saudi Arabian Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance, who advocates for Sharia law”?
He goes even further: “The evidence we have demonstrates that our fears are confirmed; that the funding is coming through Saudi Arabia, possibly even through money laundering.”
On his part, Me Ouassimi Mebarek, a founding member and lawyer of the En Nour association, feels perfectly confident: “These works were carried out on a voluntary basis by companies that wished to support our project in this manner. Not a cent passed through the accounts of the association.”
The investigation will reveal the exact facts.
