On Tuesday, April 30, 2024, the presentation of the 2024-2025 season program of the Nice Opera titled “Free to Love” took place.
This 2024-2025 season consists of eight opera productions, including seven new productions. “I wanted it to be vibrant, free, and loving,” admits Bertrand Rossi, the director of the Nice Côte d’Azur Opera, for this new season at the Opera. The theme of the 2024-2025 season was revealed to us: “Free to Love”. “The subject of love emerged during the French Revolution, during the birth of individualism desired by Rousseau, which claims this loving desire to live and be oneself”, explains Bertrand Rossi.
This year, the Nice Côte d’Azur Opera is introducing a new youth card. This card is intended for those under 30. The advantage of this youth card is its cost of only €10. With a reduced rate throughout the year, holders will be able to benefit from tickets at only €5.
The program of this 2024-2025 season of the Nice Opera is divided into several categories:
Operas:
- The “hip hop’era” festival, Saturday, September 7 at 8 pm
- “La fille de Madame Angot,” September 28 and 29
- “Edgar” Puccini’s second opera, a new co-production with the Turin Opera, from November 8 to 12, 2024, in a four-hour version
- “Transfigured,” the 12 lives of Schönberg returns with a new production on December 6, 2024
- “The Magic Flute” by Mozart in co-production with the Champs Élysées Opera, at the Nice Opera from January 24 to 30, 2025
- “Juliette or the Key of Dreams” from March 11 to 15, 2025. A work dating from 1937, a work of great fantasy, set today in Nice
- “The Barber of Seville” at the Nice Opera with a new production from Friday, May 2 to Thursday, May 8, 2025
- “Carmen” is the most performed opera in the world. It returns to Nice on May 28 and 30 as well as June 1 and 3, 2025
- “Carmen Street” is a slightly offbeat version of “Carmen.” Arriving on June 21 and 22, 2025. Carmen Street is a participatory opera in musical comedy form.
