Launched and supported since 2009, the Environment Trophies recognize the efforts made by associations in Nice, schools, and residents who, every day, find inventive, ingenious, and clever solutions in favor of environmental protection.
The 2018 edition rewarded 31 winners. The prize-giving ceremony by Vรฉronique Paquis, Deputy Mayor of Nice, was marked by the presence of Chief Mundiya Kepanga, a Papuan Chief of the Huli tribe from Papua New Guinea, who came for the occasion.
Since the first edition of the Environment Trophies, the City of Nice has received 529 applications, 240 projects have been selected, and 192 already implemented, with a total amount provided by the city of โฌ390,937.
The Papuan Chief was once again honored yesterday at Phoenix Park during a cultural exchange with the four classes from the Port school, which he had met in November 2017, and with the screening of his film “Brothers of the Trees.”
