The Euro-Mediterranean Doctoral Meetings in Law / Economics / Management of Environment and Sustainable Development are scheduled until September 9, 2011.
With the launch of its Territorial Climate Energy Plan, the Eco-Valley project, and its Agenda 21, Nice Côte d’Azur is committed to a program of actions in favor of sustainable development that considers social and economic dimensions.
Moreover, the Urban Community is investing in supporting projects that aim to promote the intellectual and scientific outreach of the city and revitalize research in Nice with initiatives like the Lépine committee, grants awarded to young researchers, or the City of Nice prizes.
The aim of these meetings is to allow PhD students from high-level European and Mediterranean universities to present and discuss the progress of their thesis, under the supervision of a panel of prominent specialists from renowned organizations—such as the Center for Industrial Economics (CERNA MINES Paris Tech), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR), the World Bank, and companies like Total, Veolia Environnement, Électricité Réseau Distribution France (ERDF)—as well as major universities from Europe and the Mediterranean region that will also provide insights on the theme Sustainable Cities and Renewable Energies.
