The European Masters Games Nice 2015 in the Service of Sport and Health

Latest News

The development of sport-health is at the heart of the agreement that was signed last night between the City of Nice and the Primary Health Insurance Fund of the Alpes-Maritimes.

A first of its kind, this agreement takes place in the context of the upcoming European Masters Games, which will be held in Nice from October 1 to 11, 2015. During these games, the Primary Health Insurance Fund will be present at the heart of the Village situated at Place Massรฉna.

The Fund will run decentralized sessions of its “Active Health” Workshops, which conduct a prevention program throughout the year, focused particularly on heart disease, back issues, and nutrition.

Based on a health education approach, this free program aims to sustainably change daily living habits and empower insured individuals to take charge of their health. A “Active Health Space” is currently set up in Nice at 17 rue dโ€™Italie.

This partnership, which comes just before the one to be signed next May with SNCF, clearly demonstrates the legitimacy and interest in this major sporting event dedicated to athletes aged over 35 (over 25 for swimming). Olivier Guรฉrin, Josรฉ Cobos, and Nicole Merlino, deputies and advisors of the municipal majority, also expressed the City of Nice’s support for this major event, which is expected to attract no less than 10,000 participants.

Partnerships we love, truly a public service!
