European Commissioner Thierry Breton presented the vaccination passport. The goal is to “regain the ability to live together without being a risk” and “have the ability to reopen.”
First and foremost, the aim is to recreate the conditions for a summer season at least equivalent to that of 2020, with the maximum amount of tourist activities.
Planned for June 15 and harmonized at the European level, this “certificate” will be available in both paper and digital formats on the health ministry websites of each EU country. Equipped with a “QR code,” it will display “your current status,” which includes “the type of vaccine you received,” “if you have been infected with the disease,” and “if you have antibodies.”
This document may be required to board a plane, participate in a “major event,” or enter a public place, although it will not be mandatory. In the absence of a certificate, a negative Covid test will be required.
