Considered one of the flagship events of pétanque in France after “La Marseillaise”, the Europétanque des Alpes-Maritimes is a must-attend event for professionals and amateurs alike. It will be held on October 28th and 29th.

The best pétanque players from around the world will compete in an internationally renowned competition featuring 2,000 players from 20 different nations! And this year, viewers will have the chance to enjoy several new features: first, the change of venue, which moves from Nice to the Cagnes-sur-Mer racetrack, and dates spanning from October 28th to 29th.

Next, the return of a VIP contest involving personalities from the equestrian world, elected officials, and partners on Friday, October 27th, the day before the competition. To conclude, the grand ” Seniors 06 Pétanque” day will be held on Monday, October 30th, as a closing day with more than 300 seniors expected.

But also, the 8th edition of the precision shooting events

Organized by the Departmental Pétanque Committee, the contest meets with significant success every year. Preceded by six stages spread across the entire Maralpin region, the 37 best players from these preliminaries faced off last Friday for the first time in the gardens of the Department. This departmental final qualified 8 players for the precision shooting contest of the Europétanque Alpes-Maritimes!

Launched in 2014, this qualifying precision shooting contest has experienced a remarkable boom, with full participation in each host city. Nearly 500 pétanque players participated in all these preliminaries for this new edition, much to the delight of Charles Ange Ginésy, president of the Department of Alpes-Maritimes.

“What a pleasure to welcome, as part of the 21st edition of the Europétanque, the departmental final of precision shooting in the Department’s lush gardens! Pétanque is a part of our territory’s culture; it is a tradition. The playing field is extraordinary. From the coast to the high-country hills, every village has a pétanque court, a sign of sharing and mutual assistance. Europétanque is the identity, the history, the showcase of our traditions. It is a competition that has earned its reputation to become, alongside La Marseillaise, one of the most prestigious international pétanque competitions!”
