Establishment of a senior citizens’ observatory by the city of Nice. This segment of the population is developing new lifestyles and consumption habits. Their behaviors are changing, and they are seeking to fully enjoy their retirement. This is an observation made by the city of Nice’s services.
The purpose of this observatory is to organize reflections and actions to understand this evolution. It is a somewhat vague project meant to study “desires, demands, impact in the areas of economy and citizenship, the role this new generation can play in society.” Directly involved in this study, ten members of the observatory will attempt to answer these questions.
A project that aligns with other events organized by the municipality, including the “Super Grandma” trophy, the senior-future expo, or the senior theater festival. Behind this project is the intention to provide more purchasing power to retirees. In a city where the number of retirees is increasing, it makes sense to implement measures in their favor. However, the outlines of this observatory remain quite vague as the issue seems more complex.
The seniors’ observatory deserves particular attention in the future. To be credible, it must be followed by concrete actions and not just simple analyses.
